Kiera Rose Collection began with a passion for history, photography, and crafting. More than 10 years ago, my daughter, Kiera, and I attended a rag quilting workshop led by Gullah educator and culture preservationist, Sharon Cooper-Murray - or as we Charlestonians affectionately call her, “The Gullah Lady”. My daughter and I continued working on a project together at home for a short while before life got busy and we packed it away for another time. It stayed packed away until a couple of years ago when I decided to make rag quilt pillows to gift family and friends for Christmas. I found it very therapeutic and kept making pillows, eventually running short on storage space for them. So, I decided to share them with all of you!
I licensed the business and began investing in items to build a vendor booth. I wanted to offer items that were more budget friendly as well and decided to do something with my photography. Throwing out ideas, my niece sent a video of the sublimation process, which blew my mind! I immediately invested in that equipment and began creating some really cool stuff!
Unable to venture feet first into vendor life due to my work schedule, I tried selling products on Etsy and Facebook and ultimately decided to build a website. So, here we are...
